Attorneys

This report explains how middle-aged female attorneys should dress for success. It focuses on hairstyles, shoes, and accessories.

Ballpoint Pen

Hairstyles

No middle-aged female attorney wants to look faded and jaded. But did you know that Marcia Clark felt she looked that way when she was prosecuting O.J. Simpson. In fact, after she lost the case she consulted with jurors and received feedback similar to the feedback you might receive from an image consultant. She learned that she was perceived as cold and unfeeling.

She then colored her hair blonde and made other primary alterations in her image, including her wardrobe, demeanor and vocabulary. The ensue was a complete makeover. She looked and felt like a new woman.

It's not all the time primary to color your hair. You might plainly need a new hairstyle or a haircut that flatters your face and figure. Most female attorneys look best in shoulder-length hair. Longer hair does not test well with judges.

Shoes For Female Attorneys

Female attorneys need to keep in mind that even if they're wearing a light suit their shoes must be dark. This means you do not need to coordinate your shoes with your suits. Yes, that's right. You do not need to wear beige shoes if you wear a beige jacket and pants. In fact, beige shoes are a poor option for a female attorney. So are red shoes and multi-colored shoes.

The best color for shoes is black, and the best style is a pump with low heels. Such footwear is conservative, inoffensive, and will score points with clients, colleagues, and judges.

Accessories For Attorneys

The most productive pen for a female lawyer is a gold Cross ballpoint pen. You can find them used online. Do not let yourself be seen writing with a cheap plastic pen. It cheapens your image. You would be surprised what clients and judges remember about you. They may not tell you to your face, but they will remember inescapable things if you use a gold pen.

You should also carry a luxurious leather briefcase. Even if it's empty. Some attorneys have so many papers they need two. This is also okay. Just as long as they're nice and not the boxy squarish kind.

By taking this advice to heart, middle-aged female attorneys can look decades younger and can make a favorable impression on every person they meet while the course of their enterprise day.
